Impact of COVID 19 Pandemics
Axiom Information
The recent crisis due to the coronavirus disease of 2019 (also known as COVID 19) which is caused by the novel coronavirus Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-COV-2) is the biggest pandemic of our lifetime. So, guys today I am not here to talk about how this emerges out and it spread but we will talk on the undeniable changes it has come up along with it. Many of changes we are witness in our day to day life, but some are inevitable once we get over this pandemic.
Changes in our Day to Day Life
We are
witness that our perspective of living has changed… Apparently Masks have entered
in to our dressing sense. On a serious note it is compulsory to wear a mask…
One thing I have is that many of us are washing our hands very frequently throughout
the day which is good but again question arises on water availability issues
which is more prominent in India.
The centres for
disaster control and prevention and other medical guidelines have urged people
to avoid handshakes, and in this case people across the globe are following
Indian greeting style NAMASTE.
Public Gatherings
All across the
globe public gatherings are restricted and people are urged not to gather. In
India too any type of public gathering is not allowed.
Festivals have
also gone uncelebrated and people are asked to work from home.
Stockpiling and Price rise
People started
to stock up essential thing like food and medical stuff. And in this rush to
stock up essential thing many incidents of violation of social distancing norms
have been witnessed.
At other end
hand shopkeepers and wholesalers have also grabbed this opportunity for
self-centred benefits. Looking at the high demand for essential items in market
shopkeepers started selling it at a high price, where there are incidents
reported that sanitizers have been sold at 5 times higher…
With one report showing that sales of
several products on Amazon, namely sanitizers and medical face masks, rose at
least 50% higher than their 90-day average after the World Health Organization
declared an emergency.
Aftermaths of COVID 19
We
have talked a lot about coronavirus impacts on different aspects in day to day
life, but let us think of the aftermaths post COVID 19 pandemics.
Post COVID 19 Economy
As we can see
the world is slowly going back to work, but people are slowly adapting to the
“NEW NORMAL”. The economic and social impacts are unprecedented. According to
one estimation many countries will witness negative growth rate up to 5-15%. India's growth in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2020
went down to 3.1% according to Ministry of Statistics. But if there are problems there are
solution to it. As we all noticed the growing
tension between China and many other countries in this pandemic situation. I
think due to this there are many opportunities waiting for us in near future.
Many IT sector firms and companies are showing their interest to invest in India.
There can be a movement of capital
away from china in manufacturing sector, which will present a great advantage to
India, and India needs to focus on that.
Creating Employment
Creating employment would be big
and important task. Job loss is a major crisis. According to CMIE’s (Centre for
Monitoring Indian Economy) 27 million youth between age group of 20-30 years
lost their jobs in April 2020 due to lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID 19.
So, after COVID 19 strategy should be developed to create Entry-level and Mid-level
jobs in large numbers.
People also have to take an initiative
to start off with new creative ideas. I think innovation and changes are must
post COVID 19 pandemic, and this innovation can lead towards attraction of foreign
companies to invest in India.
Health Sector
Health sector
is a major concern for the world. This pandemic has shown us how incapable we
are in providing medical facilities and infrastructure to a large mass of people
at a right time. This pandemic targets the management system of the medical
sector. A large cluster of cases suddenly come up putting the management system
of medical infrastructure into crisis like situation.
Many countries
which are have excellent medical infrastructure have also been witnessing huge
crisis. The main challenge across the globe post COVID 19 is to have a
sustainable medical system which can not only safeguard the citizens but also
safeguard the warriors of the system because we have witnessed many health care
workers have also been affected.
On other hand
if we think positively then India’s medical infrastructure has seen a good
amount of development during this pandemic. Many Indian companies have started manufacturing
ventilators on a large scale. But a long way to go for country like India where
there is a large number of people living below poverty line.
On the contrary
people themselves have to take care of there own health. As we have discovered
this new type of disease which is highly infectious, Infront of which many
countries healthcare system has collapsed. So, in future we have to be more
cautious in our day to day routine. Governments across the globe have to ponder
upon the health sector budget and its advancement.
At last I want
to quote one saying of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which he very rightly said,
“Jaan
Hai To Jahaan Hai”
Meaning if you
have life, you have the world…
